VEHICLE HIRE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – VEHICLE HIRE FAQS – CAR HIRE INFORMATION
We accept drivers from the ages of 23 – 74 with no medical issues. For persons over 74 – we can attempt to arrange cover with an economic quote.
We aim to provide the specified vehicle. In the event that a vehicle is unavailable, we will either provide a similar car within the same class or an upgrade for the same agreed price.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Bookings made can be cancelled free of charge by providing us a minimum of 24 hours notice. For cancellations within 24 hours, you will be charged one days rental of the agreed vehicle. For bank holiday bookings – the deposit is non-refundable if you choose to cancel or not show.
If you enter the congestion zone, then the hirer must pay the congestion charge fee as required by law.
COLLISSION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
The default insurance excess on the rental agreement is £975.00. We have a CDW Clause available to reduce the insurance excess to £250.00. The prices are: £8.95/day (Car) and £9.95/day (Van).
CONTINENTAL HIRE (GOING ABROAD)
We do not allow hirers to take our vehicles outside of mainland UK. If you wish to travel to Scotland then you must arrange with us prior to your rental to arrange additional insurance cover and additional breakdown cover.
If you are going to return a vehicle late then please let us know ASAP. Usually there is a 30 minute grace period where when exceeded, an additional day will be payable. If you do not contact us then we will have to assume the vehicle is missing and inform the relevant authorities.
DEPOSIT / PRE-PAYMENT
A pre-authorization will be placed on a Credit / Debit card held by the hirer. The deposit is held for a maximum of 10 days from the start of the rental agreement. An amount of £395.00 is authorized for drivers who are UK Licence holders and £395.00 is charged to non-UK Licence holders.

The default excess is £975.00 which can be reduced to £250.00 for an additional premium.
Vehicles are rented out short of fuel (approx. 1/8th of a tank). Return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when the rental commenced. A fee is payable if the vehicle is returned with the fuel light on.
All vehicles are fully insured for hire purposes and details as required by the underwriters shall have to be provided by the hirer before commencement of the hire.
A full UK Licence along with a share code is required. Non-UK licences are also accepted if they are in English. If you have any endorsements then please let us know at the time of booking. If you unsure if you meet the requirements then please call us or e-mail us.
Our rentals come with 200 Free Miles per day, additional miles are 10p per mile thereafter.
The minimum hire for non-club members is 1 day. If you are a member of the CitiRental Club then one of the benefits is that you can rent a car for 1 hour! Visit our Car Club today!
Our working hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm. Saturdays from 8.00am to 1.00pm. We are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Please see our bank holiday opening hours for more information.
Vehicles booked at the daily rate are done via 24 hours. If you take a vehicle from us at 8.00am then you must return it at 8.00am the following day.
Any extensions should be made with us as soon as possible. Extension rates can be found in the Terms & Conditions reverse to the Rental Agreement or on our website.
Any damage to our vehicles should be reported to us immediately so we can inform our insurers. If you get into an accident then please follow the procedure on the information leaflet then notify us ASAP. Customers should inspect a vehicle fully prior to taking the vehicle. Any damage will be noted down on our damage inspection sheet which is used to compare return damage.
PENALTIES FOR OFFENCES
Should you receive a PCN or fine then please pay this immediately. If you fail to do so and we recieve it in the post then a £59.85 charge will be applied per offence and relative authorities will be notified if needed.
